Pasta al Limone

This low FODMAP Pasta al Limone is fresh, zesty and light – perfect for those nights you don’t feel like putting in the hard yards, but want something that’s going to make you feel like you’re on a vacation somewhere in the sun.


  • 2 cups low FODMAP pasta of choice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Juice and zest of 1/2-1 lemon
  • 1/4 parmesan
  • 1/2 cup lactose free cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


Makes 2 serves

  1. Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions.
  2. In a large frying pan, melt the butter and add the salt, pepper, and zest and juice of the lemon (start with 1/2 a lemon and then you can add more to taste later).
  3. Once it has cooked away for about a minute, turn the heat to low and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Pour in the cream and add the parmesan, stirring to incorporate everything evenly.
  5. Add a few spoonfuls of the pasta water to thicken the sauce if desired.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it thoroughly and add it to the sauce, tossing to coat.
