Banana Bread Choc Chip Muffins

Low FODMAP Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Muffins? Yes, yes, yes. Eat them as a snack or dessert... or lunch or dinner?


  • 200g FODMAP-friendly ripeness banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup low FODMAP milk
  • Dash vanilla
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 3/4 cup low FODMAP self raising flour
  • 1 cup low FODMAP plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch salt
  • 180g choc chips


Makes: 9 muffins (Low FODMAP serving size: 1 muffin)

  1. Preheat the oven to 160C and grease and line 9 holes of a standard muffin pan.
  2. Add the banana(s) to a large mixing bowl and mash until smooth.
  3. Add the egg, milk and vanilla and whisk to combine.
  4. Add the caster sugar and sift in the flours, cinnamon and salt. Stir until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Fold through the chocolate chips until evenly incorporated.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the 9 muffin cases.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
